Finding the Why Behind Northcast

It’s a story I’ve told many times—but one I never tire of sharing. It’s the story of how Northcast, LLC came to life and how it’s quietly guided the path I’ve been walking for the past several years.

At its core, Northcast was born from a simple, powerful mission:
To connect through tradition, nature, and friendship.
To inspire adventure, encourage storytelling, and remind each other of the beauty found off the beaten path.

Northcast began in 2016 as a tribute—an offering, really—to two of the most influential people in my life: my grandparents, Mary and Larry.
They took me camping, fishing, and exploring the backroads of Minnesota and beyond. The places we visited—whether familiar favorites or brand-new stops—left lasting impressions on me. Those quiet moments by the water, nights under the stars, and early mornings with a rod in hand shaped me in ways I’m still discovering.

Years later, I realized I wanted to create something that reflected those memories—something rooted in storytelling and the spirit of the North. That’s how Northcast began. Not as a business plan, but as a way to carry forward the values and experiences that have meant the most to me.

As life continues to shift and evolve, so will this journey. I know that no matter where I am or what I’m doing, I’ll always be contributing to the story of Northcast—writing it in small ways, one memory at a time.
